Raining Down Redemption by BK Rivers

Raining Down RedemptionRaining Down Redemption by B.K. Rivers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it loved it loved it!! Mind you I'm not one that likes romances where the female character already has a kid but this one is the exception. The kid in this story is what makes the plot so good! I started and finished this book all in one night...well almost lol! I got about 80 percent finished and finally had to put it down to sleep but I just had to get to the part where Jordan found out about Micah.

This is a second chance romance about high school sweethearts. Jordan is a rock star recovering from a drug addiction. His sweetheart, Reggie is working 2 jobs to support herself and her lil boy. The sparks are re-ignited as soon as they see each other for the first time in years. Oh the feelings I felt whenever they were together ♡. They are so perfect together.

The only thing is I felt bad for Jordan finding out about Micah years too late. She should have at least told him when she gave birth or something. However, the story wouldn't have been as exciting without the surprise.

I'm rating Raining Down Redemption a 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you so much BK Rivers for introducing me to Reggie and Jordan's story. I fell in love with this couple ;)

Charmed and Dangerous by Debbie Herbert

Charmed and Dangerous (Appalachian Magic Series, #1)Charmed and Dangerous by Debbie Herbert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading Charmed and Dangerous I'm ready to take a trip to the Appalachian mountains lol! I've never been there but it sounds like a beautiful and magical area. Debbie Herbert does a great job of taking the reader to a small town in the mountains where witches and immortals are not as uncommon as one would think.

It all started during a game with the Ouija board. What a fun way to start a book about witches and the paranormal than communicating with spirits. It just grabbed me from the very beginning and never let go!

Callie, the main character is said to become a powerful witch on her 20th birthday. She not only returns home to find herself gaining psychic abilities and stronger powers then she had before but she has a lot and I mean A LOT of family drama to work through. So much so that it amazes me how she didn't give them all a harder time when she came back. I'm sure meeting James had something to do with it. She is able to confide in him and de-stress with old friends about her problems.

I think this is what is the heart of the book, Callie's relationships and friendships. I can't imagine how abandoned she must have felt when she was sent to live with her aunt without any explanations why. The letters from home while she was away weren't even personal or loving.

I'm rating Charmed and Dangerous a 5 out of 5 stars. If you like your YA books filled with magic, romance, and a bit of drama then I highly recommend Charmed and Dangerous by Debbie Herbert.

The Seat of Magic by J. Kathleen Cheney

The Seat of Magic (The Golden City, #2)The Seat of Magic by J. Kathleen Cheney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

More intrigue and mystery is found in the 2nd book of J. Kathleen Cheney's Golden City series. The first book ended with Oriana (very pretty name) going back to her native island. Unfortunately that's not where she actually ends up. Duilio comes to her rescue but in doing so they unlock another mystery involving her family and she helps him in solving disappearances of non-human girls. I love the mysteries and secrets revealed in this story!

I highly recommend reading the first book of the series although you don't have to. The romance is once again rekindled between Oriana and Duilio. They work so well together when dealing with problems that it's not any wonder they fall in love.

There are a few twists and surprises later in the book. I don't want to ruin it for anyone but I was very happy to see Oriana reunited with someone from her past. Duilio and Oriana finally come to a decision on the status of their relationship.

An excellent 2nd book to the Golden City series. I'm rating The Seat of Magic a 5 out of 5 stars.
